Abu Dhabi City Tour Itinerary: Half Day and Full Day
These are our usual timings for a morning start. Your driver changes the order around traffic, prayer times and your hotel, and any stop can be longer, shorter or skipped. The 6-hour tour is the half day plus one museum inside, usually Qasr Al Watan or the Louvre.

New rules, 2026
Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque on the Tour: Hours, Entry Fee and Dress Code
The mosque is the stop most guests book the tour for, and the rules changed in September 2026. Here is what applies on the day, so nobody is turned away at the gate.
AED 10 for tourists and AED 5 for UAE residents with an Emirates ID. Visitors aged 60 and over and worshippers enter free. The fee is paid at the mosque and is not in the car price.
Saturday to Thursday, 9 AM to 8.30 PM. Friday, 9 to 11.30 AM and 2.30 to 8.30 PM, with the prayer hall closed to visitors from midday to 3 PM.
Loose clothes covering arms and legs for everyone, and a headscarf for women. Abayas are no longer lent at the gate; one costs AED 45 at Souq Al Jami next to the mosque.
The main prayer hall tour is AED 30 and runs outside prayer times. Free cultural tours of 30 to 45 minutes leave at 11 AM, 1 PM and 5 PM.
Allowed in the courtyards and the colonnades. Your driver knows the best angles of the pools and waits while you take them.
Shoes come off before the prayer hall. Leave large bags in the car; it stays with your driver for the whole tour.

Eight places fill the day. Most cost nothing from outside, so unless you buy a ticket somewhere, the car price is nearly the whole cost of your tour.

Half Day, 6 Hours or Full Day: Which Abu Dhabi City Tour to Book
All three use the same car and the same driver. What changes is how many places you can enjoy without rushing between them.
You want the Grand Mosque inside and the big photo stops, you are on a cruise call or a short stay, or you have a desert safari the same afternoon.
One museum matters to you. Qasr Al Watan takes about 90 minutes inside, the Louvre two hours or more, and the extra time keeps the morning relaxed. It also suits a Louvre combo. The Louvre is closed on Mondays, so a Monday 6-hour tour goes inside Qasr Al Watan instead.
This is your one day in the capital. You see the island, Saadiyat and Yas, with time for lunch and a walk on the Corniche. Want the Dates Market or Marina Mall? Ask, and the driver fits them in.

The open-top hop-on hop-off bus is a good way to see the Corniche by ticket. A private car suits a group, the summer heat and a plan that includes going inside the mosque.

How much does an Abu Dhabi city tour cost?

Is an Abu Dhabi city tour worth it?
For a first visit, yes. The sights are spread across an island and two more islands, and the midday heat makes walking between them hard. A car with a driver who waits at each stop turns a tiring day into an easy one, and for a group it costs less per person than many shared tickets.
Can I do the Abu Dhabi city tour from Dubai?
Yes. We collect you at your Dubai hotel and bring you back after the tour for USD 408 (AED 1,500) per car, or USD 490 (AED 1,800) in a Land Cruiser. The full plan is on our Abu Dhabi city tour from Dubai page.
Does the tour include Ferrari World or Warner Bros World?
The full day includes a photo stop on Yas Island. The theme parks themselves take most of a day and need their own tickets, so we run them as a separate city tour with Ferrari World.
Is there an evening or night Abu Dhabi city tour?
Yes. The mosque is open until 8.30 PM and is at its most beautiful once the lights come on, so an afternoon start that ends on the Corniche after dark works well. Send us the start time you want on WhatsApp and we confirm the car price.
Can I do the city tour and a desert safari on the same day?
Yes. The half day finishes around 1 PM and the evening desert safari picks up around 3 PM, so both fit in one day. Many guests prefer two separate days; book either way in the panel.
Which cars do you use?
A sedan or a 4×4 private vehicle for the standard tours, our premium Toyota Land Cruiser for more room and comfort, and a luxury Lexus on request for USD 408 (AED 1,499) per car. All are insured and cooled, with a seatbelt in every seat.
Is there a deposit, and do you take cards?
Nothing is paid before the tour. On the day, settle in cash in most currencies, or by card, which adds the bank fee of 8 to 10 percent.
Can I cancel or change the date?
Yes, at no cost, up to 12 hours before your pickup time.
Is Abu Dhabi walkable without a tour?
Parts are, such as the Corniche promenade. The main sights are kilometres apart and connected by highways, though, so most visitors use a car, a taxi or the hop-on hop-off bus to move between them.
Is tipping expected?
No. A tip is welcome but never expected, and our drivers do not ask for one.
How long does an Abu Dhabi city tour take?
The tour duration depends on the option: the half day is 3 to 4 hours, the middle option 6 hours and the full day about 8 hours from pickup. The Grand Mosque alone takes about 75 minutes inside, Qasr Al Watan about 90 minutes and the Louvre two hours or more, so that is the time required if you want them inside.
Is a licensed tour guide included?
Your driver speaks English and explains the city between stops, but he is a driver-guide, not a licensed tour guide. We are a DCT-licensed tour operator, and if you want a licensed guide with you inside the mosque or the palace, ask when you book and we arrange one at extra cost.
Does the price include the Grand Mosque entry fee?
No. Since September 2026 the mosque charges AED 10 per tourist and AED 5 for UAE residents with an Emirates ID, paid at the mosque; visitors aged 60 and over enter free. The car price covers the car, the driver, fuel, tolls and parking.
What are the must see stops on an Abu Dhabi city tour for first time visitors from the US?
Start with Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque and Qasr Al Watan, then the Corniche and Emirates Palace, the Louvre Abu Dhabi on Saadiyat and a photo stop at Ferrari World on Yas Island. How many fit depends on the length you book; the itinerary above shows the half day and full day routes. US passport holders can currently get a free visa on arrival in the UAE, but confirm your own entry rules before you fly.
Do you pick up from my hotel, and is the tour good for families?
Yes. Pickup and drop-off at any Abu Dhabi hotel or home are included in the price. Because one price covers the whole car for up to 7 guests, a family pays the same as a couple, and the driver adjusts the pace and the stops for children.
