Dubai Stopover Tour: The Short Answer
A private car and driver for the hours between your flights, collected from DXB arrivals at any hour, with your luggage staying in the vehicle.
- How much does it cost? AED 699 for four hours, AED 799 for six, AED 999 for eight and AED 1,299 for a twelve-hour overnight run — per car for up to seven guests, not per person.
- Can I leave Dubai airport during a layover? Yes, if you are eligible to enter the UAE — visa-free, visa on arrival, or a transit visa through your airline.
- Is a Dubai stopover worth it? On a connection of six hours or more, yes. Under five hours, honestly, no.
- Do you run tours at night? Yes, at any hour, with no night surcharge. Land at 02:40 and the driver is at arrivals at 02:40.
- Where do I leave my luggage? In the vehicle. It stays with you the whole run — no storage fee, no queue, no coming back for it.
- Do I pay in advance? No deposit and no card details. You pay the driver on the day, in cash or by card.
- What happens if my flight is delayed? We track the inbound flight. The driver waits, the route shortens to fit what is left, and the price does not change.

What time do you land?
Every hour on this list is a working hour. A 03:00 arrival is an ordinary shift at the ordinary price — there is no night surcharge.
| You land | What we run |
|---|---|
| 00:00 – 05:00 | Marina, the Palm and Downtown lit and empty. The Fountain is finished for the night, so we use the time on the waterfront. |
| 05:00 – 08:00 | Sunrise light at the Dubai Frame, the creek, or the desert edge before the heat. |
| 08:00 – 12:00 | Old Dubai, the Gold and Spice Souks and the abra crossing, done before midday. |
| 12:00 – 16:00 | Indoor by design — Dubai Mall, the aquarium, the observation deck. |
| 16:00 – 20:00 | Burj Khalifa in good light, then the Fountain every 30 minutes from 18:00. |
| 20:00 – 00:00 | Marina, JBR, Ain Dubai and Downtown. The Fountain’s last show is 23:30. |
How many hours do you really have?
The number on your boarding pass is not the number you can spend. Subtract honestly — this is the arithmetic no competitor publishes.
| Step | Realistic time | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Door to immigration | 15–30 min | DXB is long. A remote stand adds a train ride and a walk. |
| Immigration | 10–45 min | Depends entirely on how many wide-bodies landed with you. |
| Bags, if any | 20–40 min | Skip if checked through — most connections are. |
| Back through security | 20–40 min | Peak departure banks at DXB are busy. Do not shave this. |
| Buffer you never spend | 60 min | Traffic on Sheikh Zayed Road is not an emergency if you left room. |
| Usable city time | Connection minus 3–4 h | A 7-hour connection is a 3-hour visit. Plan from that number. |
Under 5 hours, we tell you to stay in the terminal. We would rather lose the booking than have you miss a flight.
How the run actually works, hour by hour
This is the sequence on a six-hour connection, which is the one most people book. Shorter runs cut from the middle, never from the buffer at the end.
- Before you landWe track the inbound flight, so a delay reaches us before it reaches you. Nothing needs to be re-confirmed and the price does not change.
- Landing, then 15–30 minutes to immigrationDXB is long, and a remote stand adds a train ride and a walk. T3 has the longest walk to arrivals.
- Immigration, 10–45 minutesIt depends entirely on how many wide-bodies landed with you. This is the step that varies most, and the one we plan around.
- Meeting the driver at arrivalsName board at the exit of your terminal. Bags go straight into the vehicle and stay there for the whole run — no storage counter, no queue, no coming back for them.
- The city time itselfWhat we drive depends on the hour you landed, not on a fixed itinerary. Sunrise light at the Frame, Old Dubai and the souks before midday, indoors through the afternoon heat, the Fountain every 30 minutes from 18:00, and the lit waterfront after 23:30 when the last show has finished.
- Back to the terminal, with an hour you never spendWe return you to the terminal you depart from, which is not always the one you landed at. The 60-minute buffer is built in so traffic on Sheikh Zayed Road is never an emergency.
- Back through security, 20–40 minutesPeak departure banks at DXB are busy. This is the step we refuse to shave, which is why a seven-hour connection is planned as a three-hour visit.
Your bags, your terminal, your visa
The three questions every stopover page skips. We checked: not one page-1 competitor answers all three.
Where your luggage goes
Into the vehicle, and it stays there. No airport storage fee, no queue to collect it, no coming back for it. That is the main reason a private car beats a shared transit tour on a short connection.
If you would rather leave bags at DXB, left-luggage counters operate in all three terminals — we will tell you where yours is before you land.
Which terminal you are in
- T3 — Emirates and Qantas. The largest, and the longest walk to arrivals.
- T1 — most other international carriers.
- T2 — flydubai and regional airlines, on the opposite side of the airfield.
- DWC (Al Maktoum) — a separate airport entirely, about 45 minutes away.
Departing from a different terminal than you landed at adds a transfer nobody budgets for. We build it into the plan.
Can you actually leave the airport?
You need to be eligible to enter the UAE — either visa-free or visa-on-arrival for your passport, or a transit visa arranged through your airline. We cannot get you through immigration, and we will say so before you book if your passport makes it unlikely.
Entry rules change. We re-check yours against the official position for your nationality when you send your flight numbers, rather than printing a table here that may be out of date by the time you read it.
Dubai stopover questions, answered
Can I leave Dubai airport during a layover?
Yes, if you are eligible to enter the UAE — visa-free, visa on arrival, or a transit visa through your airline. With a connection under five hours we usually advise staying in the terminal.
How much does a Dubai stopover tour cost?
AED 699 for four hours, AED 799 for six, AED 999 for eight and AED 1,299 for a twelve-hour overnight run — per car for up to seven guests, not per person. A Land Cruiser is AED 999, 1,099, 1,399 and 1,699 for the same durations.
Do you run tours at night?
Yes, at any hour, with no night surcharge. Land at 02:40 and the driver is at arrivals at 02:40 for the same price as a midday pickup. Night is one of our busiest windows.
Does Emirates offer free stopovers in Dubai?
Emirates Dubai Connect gives eligible passengers a free hotel, meals, coach transfers and a complimentary 48-hour visa when they could not offer a shorter connection. It does not give you a car for the hours in between — that is what we do.
What happens if my flight is delayed?
We track the inbound flight, so we know before you do. The driver waits, the route shortens to fit what is left, and the price does not change.
Where do I leave my luggage?
In the vehicle. It stays with you the whole run — no storage fee, no queue, no coming back for it.
Do I pay in advance?
No deposit and no card details. You pay the driver on the day, in cash or by card.
Is a Dubai stopover worth it?
On a connection of six hours or more, yes — you can see Downtown or Old Dubai properly and still be back with an hour to spare. Under five hours, honestly, no.
Can you collect me from my Dubai Connect hotel?
Yes. We collect from the airport or from your hotel and return you to either. Tell us which and we time it from your boarding call.
Where can I go in Dubai after 10pm?
The Marina and JBR waterfront, the Palm, and Downtown from the outside. The Dubai Fountain’s last show is 23:30 and the observation decks close, so after that it becomes a lit-city drive rather than a ticketed run.
