Who Should Stay Overnight, and Who Should Not

An overnight is wonderful, but it is not for everyone, and we would rather you choose the right safari than be uncomfortable. Here is the honest guidance no other page seems to give.

An overnight is perfect if you are

You are pregnant. This is the question many people have and few websites answer honestly. We do not recommend the overnight safari during pregnancy. Dune bashing is not suitable for expectant mothers, and a night on a camp mattress with cool temperatures and basic facilities is not ideal either. Expectant mothers are very welcome at an evening safari for the calmer activities, the shows and the dinner, skipping the dune bashing, and then returning to a comfortable hotel. Please always follow your doctor advice.

You have severe motion sickness or a serious back or neck condition. The dune-bashing part can be kept gentle or skipped in a private vehicle, so you can still enjoy the camp, but be honest with us so we can plan it. If the bumps are a real problem, an evening at the camp without the dunes may suit you better.

You are travelling with a very young infant. A baby can manage an evening safari, but a full night in the desert, with the cold and the simple setup, is a lot for the littlest guests. Many families with babies prefer the evening safari and an early night back at the hotel.

You need hotel-level comfort, power or medical facilities through the night. A desert camp is authentic and simple. If you rely on powered medical equipment or cannot manage a basic overnight, the evening safari is the better choice. When in doubt, message us and we will tell you honestly whether the overnight suits you.

The dune bashing is driven by our own trained, experienced drivers in a maintained 4×4, with deflated tyres and seatbelts for everyone, and we are licensed by the Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism with a 4.9 star rating from more than 5,000 guests. The camp is staffed and supervised through the night, with washrooms available, so you are looked after from pickup to morning drop.

The desert at night is calm and safe, the main things to plan for are simply the cold and the lack of power, which is why we are upfront about them. An overnight gives you photo opportunities a day trip cannot, golden-hour dunes, the camp lit at night, the bonfire, the star-filled sky and a soft desert sunrise. Bring a power bank so your battery lasts, use night mode for the stars, and a small tripod helps for the long exposures that capture the Milky Way. The free Arabic costumes are perfect for portraits, and a falcon photo at AED 10–30 makes a striking, uniquely Arabian shot.
