Shared Seat (AED 130–150) or Private Car — The Honest Dubai Answer

The pages around us on this search sell shared morning seats at roughly AED 130–150 per person — a bus loop of hotel pickups. We only run it private. Here is the honest arithmetic: a couple pays AED 260–300 shared against AED 799 private — the shared seat wins on price alone. A family of five pays AED 650–750 shared, but with the pickup loop and strangers in the vehicle; at AED 799 the private car costs about the same and the morning is entirely yours. From six guests the private car is simply cheaper. Travelling solo on a budget? Book a shared seat elsewhere — we would rather tell you that than sell you the wrong trip.

Chasing the actual sunrise moment? The sunrise desert safari Dubai page covers the first-light slot in detail — same private 799/999 pricing, earliest pickups.

Add-Ons You Can Book on the Day

These are the only add-ons on the sunrise and morning tour — nothing else is sold at the camp. Add them when you book, or on the day; the price does not change.

What is a morning desert safari in Dubai, and what does it cost?

A morning desert safari in Dubai is a desert tour during the cooler early hours, usually starting between 6:00 and 8:00 AM and lasting around three to four hours. With Royal Arabian Safari it is a private group safari at AED 799 for up to 7 guests, with hotel pickup and drop included. For a full group that works out to about AED 114 per person (AED 200 each for a group of four, AED 400 each for two). The morning safari includes dune bashing in our 4×4, a camel ride, sandboarding, a sunrise photography stop and Arabic costumes for photos at our own camp in Al Awir.

One honest point most websites skip: the morning safari is the desert adventure in cool, quiet morning light, and it is run privately for your group. The eight live shows and the BBQ buffet dinner are part of our evening safari, not the morning one. So if you want a private dune adventure, sunrise photos and a calm, family-friendly start with just your own group, morning is perfect. If you want the shows and a full dinner under the stars, choose the evening safari instead.

Why a Private Morning Desert Safari Is the Smart Choice

A morning desert safari gives you the same golden dunes and the same thrill of dune bashing, but in conditions many visitors actually prefer, and with us it is entirely private to your group. The air is cool and fresh, the desert is quiet and almost empty, and the low morning sun lights the sand in soft gold that is perfect for photos. You are done by late morning with the rest of your day free, which makes it ideal if you have other plans, an afternoon flight, or simply do not want a late night out.

It is also the most comfortable option in the hot months. From May to September the Dubai afternoons are intense, and a morning safari lets you enjoy the desert before the heat builds. Families with young children, photographers chasing the best light, and groups who want the desert to themselves all tend to choose a private morning over a shared evening for exactly these reasons.

At Royal Arabian Safari we run our own camp on the golden dunes of Al Awir, the closest desert to Dubai. We are not a reseller adding a commission, and we are not an agency forwarding your booking. We are licensed by the Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism, we have hosted more than five thousand guests, and we hold a 4.9 star average rating. You book directly on WhatsApp, there is no deposit, and you pay only when you arrive. This guide covers the timings, a full hour-by-hour plan, exactly what is and is not included, an honest morning-versus-evening comparison, what to wear for a cool desert morning, the full price with a per-person breakdown, and who should choose which safari.

Morning vs Evening Desert Safari: An Honest Comparison

This is the single most useful thing to understand before booking, and almost no other website explains it clearly. Morning and evening safaris share the core desert adventure, but they are genuinely different experiences. Here is the honest side-by-side.

In short: choose the private morning safari for cool air, quiet dunes, the best photo light, a free afternoon and the whole experience just for your group, especially in the hot months and with young children. Choose the evening safari if the live entertainment and a full BBQ dinner under the stars are what you came for, or if you want a lower per-person price on a shared trip from AED 35. The evening also has budget self-drive and shared options, which the private morning does not. If you would like the full evening version, see our evening desert safari guide.

Morning Safari Timings and Hour-by-Hour Plan

Golden dunes in soft morning light on a Dubai morning desert safari
Golden dunes in soft morning light on a Dubai morning desert safari

Start times shift a little with the season. In the cooler months from October to April, a start between 7:00 and 8:00 AM is comfortable. In summer, from May to September, we begin earlier, around 6:00 AM, to catch the freshest air and the sunrise before the heat builds. Pickup is timed so you reach the dunes for the best of the morning. Here is how a typical private morning runs.

TimeWhat happens
6:00 – 7:00 AMHotel pickup for your group
Soon after arrivalDune bashing across the golden dunes in the cool morning air
NextSandboarding on the slopes and a sunrise photography stop
ThenCamel ride across the sand in the soft light
OptionalQuad bike or a falcon photo for guests who add them
Mid-morningArabic-costume photos and a relaxed break at the camp
Around 10:00 – 10:30 AMReturn drop at your hotel, with your whole day still ahead

The whole experience runs around three to four hours including travel, so you are back in the city well before midday. That timing is a big part of the appeal, you get a real private desert adventure and still have the afternoon and evening free.

What Is Included in the Morning Safari

Everything below is part of the AED 799 private morning safari at no extra cost:

Private 4×4 dune bashing with our driver
Camel ride across the dunes
Sandboarding on the slopes
Sunrise photography stop
Arabic costumes for photos
Convoy drive & tire deflation
Hotel pickup and drop for your group
Separate washrooms for men and women
The dunes to your group, no sharing

Not included in the morning safari (these are part of our evening safari): the eight live shows such as belly dance, LED Tanoura and the fire show, and the full BBQ buffet dinner. We say this openly because some operators let you assume a morning safari includes the shows and dinner, and it does not. Morning is the private desert adventure in cool light; evening adds the entertainment and the dinner.

A Private Morning Safari, Just for Your Group

Unlike a shared trip, the morning safari is run privately for your group. One price of AED 799 covers up to 7 guests in your own 4×4, with hotel pickup and drop included, so you are never put together with strangers. There is no shared morning bus and no per-person budget ticket for the morning, it is a private experience, which is exactly why it is so calm, flexible and good for families and photographers.

One price for the whole group

AED 799 for up to 7 guests, hotel pickup and drop included. The more of you there are, the better the value per person.

Great per-person value for a full group

For 7 guests it is about AED 114 each, for 4 it is around AED 200 each, and for 2 it is AED 400 each. A full group beats most shared per-person tickets, and you get the dunes to yourselves.

Want a lower per-person price?

If you are a couple or solo traveller on a budget, our shared evening safari starts at just AED 35 per person. See the evening desert safari or self drive guide for the cheapest options.

Where the Morning Safari Takes Place

Morning desert safari camp seating area in Al Awir near Dubai
Morning desert safari camp seating area in Al Awir near Dubai

Our morning safari runs from our own camp on the golden dunes of Al Awir, on the eastern edge of Dubai just off the Dubai-Hatta Road (E44), at approximately 24.638, 55.490. Al Awir is the closest desert to the city, roughly 40 kilometres and about a 40 minute drive from central Dubai, and even less from eastern communities. Its dunes are golden, gentle and rolling, which makes the dune bashing comfortable and the whole experience family-friendly, exactly what you want first thing in the morning.

Your private morning safari includes hotel pickup and drop, so you do not have to worry about the early drive or directions. We collect your group from your hotel or address across Dubai, including Deira, Bur Dubai, Downtown, Business Bay, the Marina area and more, bring you to the camp for the best of the morning, and return you afterwards. When you book we confirm your pickup time and the exact plan.

Morning Safari Price and Per-Person Breakdown

The morning safari is one simple private package: AED 799 for up to 7 guests, with hotel pickup and drop included and every activity in the list above. There is no deposit, you pay on arrival, and because it is one price for the group, the per-person cost drops the more of you come.

Group sizeTotal priceApprox. per person
2 guestsAED 799AED 400
3 guestsAED 799AED 266
4 guestsAED 799AED 200
5 guestsAED 799AED 160
6 guestsAED 799AED 133
7 guestsAED 799AED 114

So two people pay AED 400 each, a family of four is about AED 200 each, and a full group of seven is just AED 114 each, all with private transport and pickup included. Children under three join free and do not count toward the 7. For larger groups, message us and we will arrange an extra vehicle.

Optional Add-Ons: Add Any You Like

We believe in showing you everything up front. Below is the full list of extras and their exact prices, nothing is hidden and nothing is compulsory. Want any of these? Just tell us when you book on WhatsApp and we will have it ready when you arrive.

Add-onPrice
Quad bike — single seater (long route, open dunes)AED 200
Quad bike — double seaterAED 300
Can-Am dune buggy (per 30 minutes)AED 800
These are the only add-ons on the morning tour — nothing else is sold on this trip. Falcon photos, henna, shisha and the show programme belong to the evening safari.

Pre-booking a quad bike or buggy is the same price as at the camp and saves any wait, so if you think you might want one, just mention it. Everything here is optional, the AED 799 private safari is already a complete morning on its own.

What to Wear and Bring for a Desert Morning

Desert mornings are cooler than people expect, especially from November to March when the early air can feel genuinely chilly before the sun warms things up. Dressing in light layers is the trick, you can peel them off as the morning heats up.

Light layers, a t-shirt with a light jacket or hoodie for the early chill
Comfortable, loose clothing that covers shoulders and knees
Closed shoes or trainers rather than sandals, sand gets everywhere
Sunglasses and a hat for when the sun rises
Sunscreen, the morning sun is still strong
A charged phone for the sunrise photos and a power bank
Cash or card to pay at the camp
A small bottle of water

In summer you can skip the heavy layer, but a light cover and good sun protection are still smart. Everything for the activities, including Arabic costumes for photos, is provided at the camp, so you do not need any special gear.

Is the Morning Desert Safari Safe?

Yes. The dune bashing is done by our own trained, experienced driver in a properly maintained 4×4, with the tyres correctly deflated for the sand and seatbelts for every passenger. We are licensed by the Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism, and after more than five thousand guests our safety record is the foundation of our 4.9 star rating. The journey to the camp is on normal sealed roads, and you are never on sand except inside our 4×4 with our driver.

Dune bashing is a thrill ride with quick climbs, dips and turns, so it is exciting rather than reckless. The driver constantly reads the dunes and adjusts to the comfort of the people in the car. If anyone in your group would prefer a gentler ride, just say so at the start and the driver will keep it smooth. You are always in control of how intense your experience is.

Honest Advice: Should You Choose Morning or Evening?

We would rather you book the safari that suits you than simply the first one you see. Here is our honest guidance.

Choose the morning safari if…

You are visiting in the hot months and want to avoid the afternoon heat, you have young children who do better earlier in the day, you love photography and want the soft sunrise light, you have an afternoon flight or other plans, or you simply prefer a quiet, uncrowded desert and an early start.

Choose the evening safari instead if…

You want the full show, the eight live performances and a BBQ buffet dinner under the stars are an evening-only experience. If those are the highlight you are picturing, book the evening safari, not the morning one.

Skip or go gentle on dune bashing if…

You are pregnant, have back, neck or heart problems, or have recently had surgery. The climbs and drops put real force on the body. You can still come, enjoy the camel ride and photos, and simply sit out the dune bashing or ask the driver for a very gentle route.

A note on summer mornings

In the hottest weeks we start very early to keep things cool and comfortable. Even so, if anyone in your group struggles with heat, the early start and the shorter morning format are far kinder than an afternoon in the desert.

Morning Safari With Kids and Families

A morning safari is one of the best desert choices for families, and many parents prefer it to the evening for good reasons. The cool early air is far more comfortable for children than the afternoon heat, the timing fits around naps and bedtimes, and the whole thing is over by late morning so nobody gets overtired. The golden dunes of Al Awir are gentle, which keeps the dune bashing comfortable for little ones, and children love the camel ride, sandboarding and the costumes for photos.

Children under three join free. For toddlers and very young children we keep the dune bashing gentle, or you can skip it and enjoy the camel ride and photos together. Bring a hat and sunscreen, a light layer for the early chill, and your own snacks and water for the group. Because hotel pickup and drop are included, you can relax both ways with the children, with no early-morning driving to worry about. Because the morning has no late shows or heavy dinner, it is a calmer, simpler outing that works beautifully with kids.

The Best Time of Year for a Morning Safari

Quiet golden dunes in the cool morning on a Dubai desert safari
Quiet golden dunes in the cool morning on a Dubai desert safari

A morning safari works year-round, and it is the option that shines most in summer. From May to September, when Dubai afternoons and evenings are hot, the early morning is the coolest and most pleasant time to be in the desert. We start very early in these months, around 6:00 AM, so you enjoy fresh air and a beautiful sunrise before the heat builds. If you are visiting in summer and want a desert safari, morning is almost always the more comfortable choice.

From October to April the weather is mild and lovely throughout the day, so a slightly later start of 7:00 to 8:00 AM is perfect. This is also the peak tourist season, so on weekends and around public holidays, message us a few days ahead to secure your morning. During Ramadan, timings adjust respectfully, and a quiet morning in the desert is a especially peaceful experience. Whatever the season, the morning light over the dunes is always at its best, which is why photographers favour it.

Why Photographers Love the Morning Light

If photos matter to you, the morning safari is the one to book. Just after sunrise the light is soft, warm and low, raking across the dunes to reveal every ripple and curve in gold. The sky is often at its clearest, the sand is untouched and crowd-free, and the cooler air means no heat haze blurring your shots. It is the kind of light professionals plan their whole day around, and on a morning safari you are simply there for it.

Quick tips for great desert morning photos

Shoot with the low sun to your side for long shadows and texture in the sand. Capture footprints and dune ridges early before they fill with people. Use the warm tones on faces for natural, flattering portraits, and try the Arabic costumes for striking colour against the gold. A simple phone camera is more than enough in this light.

If you would like a professional to capture it for you, our photography package is available from AED 50 to 150, or you can simply hand your phone to our team for the classic shots. Either way, the morning gives you the best canvas of the day.

Booking, Payment and Cancellation

Booking is direct and simple. Message us on WhatsApp with your date and number of guests and we confirm in minutes. There is no deposit and no online payment, you pay only when you arrive at the camp, by cash or card. Because the desert is quiet in the morning we can usually accommodate same-day and next-day bookings, but in peak season a day or two of notice is wise, especially for pickup and private options.

If your plans change, just let us know in good time and we will reschedule or adjust your booking, there is nothing to lose since you have not paid upfront. This is one of the advantages of booking directly with us rather than through a platform that locks in payment and adds strict conditions.

For a private experience, yes, and here is why. AED 799 covers your whole group of up to 7 with your own 4×4 and hotel pickup included, which works out to about AED 114 per person for a full group. Many shared morning tickets cost more than that per person and still put you in with strangers. With us the dunes, the vehicle and the morning are yours alone.

Private, not shared

You are never grouped with other tourists. Your 4×4, your driver and the pace of the morning are all just for your group.

Pickup and drop included

The AED 799 already covers hotel pickup and return across Dubai. There is no separate transport charge to add on top.

Booked direct with the operator

Royal Arabian Safari owns the camp and is licensed by the Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism, with a 4.9 star rating from more than 5,000 guests. No reseller commission, and every price is shown openly.

And if you want a cheaper per-person option and do not need it private, our shared evening safari starts at AED 35. The morning is priced as a private group experience because that is exactly what it is.

Morning Desert Safari Dubai: FAQ

VIP Morning Desert Safari in Dubai — What “VIP” Actually Means Here

Search for a VIP morning desert safari in Dubai and you will find thin pages selling ordinary shared seats with a “VIP” sticker. Here is the honest version: on a morning safari, VIP means the vehicle and the privacy — nothing else is open at dawn. Our VIP morning is the Toyota Land Cruiser tier at AED 999 per vehicle: the 4×4 actually built for the big dunes, your group only (up to 7), door-to-door pickup, your choice of start time, and the dunes before the crowds arrive. No bus loop, no strangers, no inflated “VIP” extras that do not exist in the morning. If a sedan or SUV pickup suits you, the same private morning is AED 799 per vehicle.

What are the morning desert safari Dubai timings?
A morning desert safari usually starts between 6:00 and 8:00 AM and lasts about three to four hours including travel, so you are back in the city by late morning. In summer we start earlier, around 6:00 AM, to catch the cool air and sunrise; in the cooler months a 7:00 to 8:00 AM start is comfortable.
How much does a morning desert safari Dubai cost?
The morning desert safari price is simple: it is a private group safari at AED 799 for up to 7 guests, with hotel pickup and drop included. That works out to about AED 114 per person for a full group, AED 200 each for four, or AED 400 each for two. There is no deposit and you pay on arrival.
What is included in a morning desert safari?
Private dune bashing in our 4×4, a camel ride, sandboarding, a sunrise photography stop, Arabic costumes for photos, and hotel pickup and drop for your group. The dunes are yours, with no sharing.
Is breakfast or a meal included?
No. Meals, breakfast and snacks are not included on the morning safari. The BBQ buffet and live shows belong to the evening safari; you are back in the city by mid-morning, perfect timing for breakfast.
Is hotel pick-up and drop-off included?
Yes. Hotel pickup and drop for your group are included in the AED 799 price, with early-morning pickups across Dubai including Deira, Bur Dubai, Downtown, Business Bay and the Marina area. There is no separate charge for pickup on the morning safari.
Is the morning safari private, and how much is it?
Yes, the morning safari is private by default: AED 799 for your group of up to 7 in your own 4×4 with pickup included. There is no shared morning option, so you always have the desert to your own group. For more than 7 guests we add a second vehicle.
What activities are included, and is quad biking part of it?
Dune bashing, a camel ride and sandboarding are included. A quad bike is an optional add-on at AED 200 for a single rider or AED 300 for a double, and a dune buggy is AED 800 for 30 minutes. Add any when you book and we will have it ready.
What optional add-ons can I get, and how much are they?
Only two add-ons exist on the morning tour: quad bike AED 200 for a single rider or AED 300 for a double, and a Can-Am dune buggy at AED 800 per 30 minutes (2h min). Falcon photos, henna, shisha, VIP seating and the live-show programme belong to the evening safari, not the morning one. Just tell us when you book.
Is the morning desert safari safe?
Yes. Dune bashing is done by our trained driver in a maintained 4×4 with deflated tyres and seatbelts for everyone. We are DTCM licensed with a 4.9 star rating from more than 5,000 guests. The journey to the camp is on normal sealed roads, and you are only on sand inside our 4×4.
Is the morning safari good for families and kids?
Very much so. The cool morning air, gentle Al Awir dunes, short timings and private format make it one of the best desert options for children. Under threes join free and do not count toward the 7, and we keep the dune bashing gentle for little ones or you can skip it.
What should I wear and bring?
Wear light layers, the early desert can be cool, with a light jacket you can remove as it warms up, and closed shoes rather than sandals. Bring sunglasses, a hat, sunscreen, a charged phone for sunrise photos, water, and cash or card to pay. Costumes for photos are provided.
What is the difference between a morning and an evening safari?
Both include dune bashing, a camel ride and sandboarding. Morning is a private group experience (AED 799 for up to 7), cooler, quieter and shorter, about 3 to 4 hours, with sunrise light and empty dunes. Evening is longer, adds eight live shows and a full BBQ dinner, and offers shared per-person pricing from AED 35.
What is the best time for a morning desert safari?
Morning works year-round and is the best choice in the hot months from May to September, when the early air is far cooler than the afternoon. From October to April a 7:00 to 8:00 AM start is ideal. The soft sunrise light is at its best for photography in any season.
Where is the morning safari located and which desert?
It takes place on the golden dunes of Al Awir, on the eastern edge of Dubai just off the Dubai-Hatta Road, about 40 kilometres and roughly 40 minutes from central Dubai. It is the closest desert to the city, with gentle, family-friendly dunes.
What is the cancellation and refund policy?
Because there is no deposit and no upfront payment, there is nothing to lose if your plans change. Just let us know in good time and we will reschedule or adjust your booking. You pay only when you arrive at the camp.
Is there a minimum number of people?
No strict minimum. The AED 799 private rate covers your group of up to 7, whether that is one person, a couple or a full group, so smaller groups simply pay a little more per head. For more than 7 we add a second vehicle, just tell us your numbers.
How does this compare to a 5-star or luxury desert safari?
You get a private camp experience, trained drivers and a 4.9 star track record at a fair price, because you book directly with the operator and the whole morning is already private to your group. For extra comfort, add VIP seating at AED 50 per person.
Do you also offer a morning safari near Abu Dhabi?
The morning safari described here is in Dubai at our Al Awir camp. We also run desert safaris in Abu Dhabi from a separate camp. If you are based in Abu Dhabi, message us and we will point you to the right option for your location.
Can I add the evening shows and dinner to a morning safari?
No, the eight live shows and the BBQ buffet dinner are an evening-only experience and cannot be added to a morning safari. If you want the shows and dinner, book the evening safari instead. Morning is the private desert adventure in cool light.
Which is the best morning desert safari in Dubai?

The best morning desert safari Dubai has to offer is a private one — your own 4×4, your own start time, and open dunes before the heat. Ours is AED 799 per vehicle for up to 7 guests (AED 999 in a Land Cruiser), with hotel pickup, dune bashing, a sunrise photo stop, sandboarding and a short camel ride. Shared morning buses barely exist in Dubai; most “best morning safari” lists are simply private tours like this one.

What is the morning desert safari Dubai price?

AED 799 per vehicle for up to 7 guests with sedan or SUV pickup, or AED 999 in a Toyota Land Cruiser. That is the whole price — no deposit, no booking fee, pay when you arrive. The only add-ons are the quad bike (AED 200 single / AED 300 double) and the Can-Am buggy (AED 800 per 30 minutes (2h min)).

Is there a morning desert safari tour in Dubai with pickup?

Yes — every morning desert safari tour we run in Dubai is door to door: private pickup from your hotel, apartment or villa, 3–4 hours total, and you are back before noon. There is no bus loop; your group rides alone.

If we have to cancel, what happens?

A cancellation policy that covers your obligations but not ours is only half a document. Here is our side of it, in writing.

If we have to cancel your booking — for weather, a vehicle issue, or driver illness — we will contact you as soon as we know and rebook you at no charge on the next date that works for you. You pay nothing for the cancelled booking.

If we need to send a different vehicle than the one you booked, we will ask you first rather than turning up in something you did not book.

This is separate from your own cancellation rights, which are unchanged: you can cancel free up to 12 hours before pickup. Because we take no deposit and no booking fee, there is no money of yours sitting with us either way — nothing to chase, and nothing to wait for.
