: The Short Answer
Essential to Luxury — every package is a private vehicle, a driver-guide and the landmarks done properly: Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque inside, Emirates Palace, Corniche and Etihad Towers.
- How much do Abu Dhabi tour packages cost? +: Our Abu Dhabi tour packages start at AED 699 per car for a 4-hour private tour in a 4×4 (up to 6 guests).
- How long is the dune bashing?: Around 40 to 45 minutes with short breaks. Tyres are deflated to roughly 15 psi first so they float on the sand.
- What time does the desert safari start and finish?: Pickup is usually 3:00 to 3:30 PM and you are back in the city around 10:00 to 10:30 PM. Timings follow sunset, so in December pickup moves earlier and in June it moves later.
- Where does the desert safari take place?: At our own DCT-licensed camp in the Al Khatim desert, roughly 80 km east of Abu Dhabi city along the E22 Abu Dhabi to Al Ain highway, about a 50 to 60 minute drive.
- What is included in an Abu Dhabi tour package? +: Every package includes a private air-conditioned vehicle, an English-speaking driver-guide, hotel pickup and drop-off anywhere in Abu Dhabi city, entry and an interior visit to the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque (entry is free to all visitors), fuel, Salik tolls and parking, bottled water, and photo stops at Emirates Palace, the Abu Dhabi Corniche, Etihad Towers, Heritage Village and Ferrari World.
- How do I book?: Message us on WhatsApp with your date and group size. We reply with the exact total, no deposit and no booking fee, and you pay at the camp on the day.

Abu Dhabi Tour Package — Quick Answers
- How much does an Abu Dhabi tour package cost?
- With us, AED 699–1,000 per car (not per person) depending on vehicle and hours. Cheap sharing-coach packages advertise AED 79–150 per person — multiply by your group and compare.
- What does every package include?
- Private air-conditioned vehicle, English-speaking driver-guide, hotel pickup and drop-off, Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque interior visit, photo stops at Emirates Palace, Corniche and Etihad Towers, fuel, tolls and bottled water.
- Which package should I pick?
- Essential (AED 699, 3–4 hrs) covers the landmarks. Value seats 7. Complete is the full day. Luxury is a Lexus. Families of 4+ almost always do best on per-car pricing.
- Can I add Ferrari World or a desert safari?
- Yes — combo packages bolt a second experience onto the same day. Attraction tickets stay at face value; we never mark them up.
- How much does an Abu Dhabi trip cost overall?
- A full sightseeing day for a family of six runs AED 699–899 total transport plus any attraction tickets you choose — usually less than two nights of hotel parking in Dubai.
- When is the cheapest time to visit?
- Summer (May–September) has the lowest hotel rates; our per-car tour prices stay the same all year. October–April is peak — book 3 days ahead.

Real photographs from the route we drive — the Grand Mosque inside and out, Emirates Palace, Etihad Towers, the Corniche, Heritage Village, the Dates Market and the Louvre.

Add the Desert to Your Abu Dhabi Trip
The city tour finishes mid-afternoon. Most guests use the rest of the day for the dunes — we run our own camp in the Al Khatim desert, 50 km from the city. Book both together and we handle the timing.
The terms an Abu Dhabi tour package should state — and usually does not
We read the pages currently ranking above us for this search on 16 August. They publish a price and a stop list, then go quiet. The most-visited one carries no FAQ section, no cancellation policy, no refund terms, no payment terms, and no review count behind its “number one rated” claim — and it states a four-hour tour in one paragraph and a six-hour tour in the next. Here is every one of those answered for our packages, so you can hold the next quote up against it.
| What to ask | Our answer |
|---|---|
| Is the price the car or the seat? | The car. AED 699, 799, 1,050, 899 or 1,499 depending on the package, whether one of you travels or six. |
| Exactly how long is it? | 3–4 hours, 6 hours, or 6–8 hours. One number per package, and the same number everywhere on this page. |
| What is the cancellation window? | Free up to 12 hours before pickup. |
| When is payment taken? | On the day, to the driver, cash or card. Nothing on booking, no deposit, no booking fee. |
| What do children cost? | Nothing extra, at any age. The price is the vehicle. Child seats on request at no charge. |
| What is excluded? | Attraction tickets and meals. You buy tickets at the gate, at gate price — we take no commission on them. |
| Who is the operator, and licensed by whom? | Royal Arabian Safari, DTCM-licensed, 4.9★ from 5,000+ guests. A named company, a rating and a number. |
| Is there a written FAQ? | Thirty questions further down this page, answered in full. |
If a package page cannot answer the cancellation and payment questions, that is not an oversight — those are the two answers that cost an operator money to publish. Ask before you pay a deposit anywhere.
Five places the standard Abu Dhabi package drives straight past
Every package on page one visits the same six stops. Because our tours are private and priced by the car, you can swap any of these in at no extra charge — the only thing that changes is where the driver goes.
| Place | Why it is worth the detour | Time to allow |
|---|---|---|
| Wahat Al Karama | The memorial opposite the Grand Mosque — 31 leaning aluminium tablets, and the best view back across the water to the domes. Free to enter. | 30 min |
| Umm Al Emarat Park | The city’s oldest park, and the stop that rescues a tour with restless children in it. Shaded, walkable, a small animal barn. | 45 min |
| Mangrove National Park | Boardwalk through the mangroves on the eastern edge. Best early morning or late afternoon, when the herons are out and the heat is off. | 45–60 min |
| Al Maryah Island promenade | The waterfront the business district is built around — the skyline view most visitors photograph from the wrong side. | 30 min |
| Al Ain Oasis | A UNESCO-listed date palm oasis with a working falaj irrigation system. Not a detour — it is 90 minutes inland, so it needs its own day. | Own day |
The first four fit inside a six-hour or full-day package without dropping anything. Al Ain does not, and we would rather say so here than have you find out at four in the afternoon.

On This Page

What a “package price” on this search actually means
Every operator ranking on page one for Abu Dhabi tour packages leads with a small number. We read their live pages today, and in almost every case that number is not the price you will pay.
The headline is the six-person rate
One page-one hub headlines “$79.95” for its day tour — that is the rate at six passengers. Its five-hour product advertises “from $35” while the solo rate on the same page is $165 and a couple pay $85 each. If you are two people, the number that won the click is roughly a fifth of what you owe.
Some of them contradict themselves in the same screen
Another page-one hub carries the heading “holiday packages from USD 762” while three of the four packages listed directly underneath start at 1,061, 1,132 and 1,284. A third leads with a teaser price roughly a fifth of the bottom of its own stated range, and claims “4.7 across 3000+ reviews” while the review breakdown on the same page totals 2,650. Two different numbers for the same thing, both live.
And then there are the charges that appear after you commit
One operator requires a 45–55% deposit to confirm — and does not say which, so you cannot know what you owe until you ask. The same terms state that all transaction and bank fees are the guest’s responsibility, so the amount that leaves your account exceeds the quoted price by an undisclosed margin. And pre-purchased attraction tickets are deducted from your deposit even inside their own “free cancellation” window, which quietly makes the free cancellation not free. Another page-one hub selling packages at tens of thousands of rupees per person publishes no cancellation policy at all.
Ours, per car, with the terms in one sentence
| Package | Hours | Sedan or 4×4 | Land Cruiser |
|---|---|---|---|
| Half-day city tour | 3–4 | AED 699 | AED 899 |
| Six-hour city tour | 6 | AED 799 | AED 1,050 |
| Full-day city tour | 6–8 | AED 899 | AED 1,099 |
| Luxury Lexus full day | 8 | AED 1,499 | — |
| Al Wathba Salt Lake | 5–6 | AED 899 | AED 1,099 |
Per car, not per person. Children add nothing. Tolls, fuel, parking and the driver’s day are inside it. No deposit, no booking fee, no bank charges passed to you, pay on the day, cancel free up to 12 hours before pickup.
Which package you pick matters less than which day you pick
Three of the attractions that appear in packages across this SERP close or restrict on specific days, and not one page-one operator warns you — including one that actively sells a Louvre ticket as a package option.
| In your package | What nobody tells you |
|---|---|
| Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque | A free online access pass must be pre-booked before you arrive — mentioned by nobody on this search. Hours 09:00–20:30, last entry 20:00; Friday splits into 09:00–11:30 and 14:30–20:30. We book the pass for you. (szgmc.gov.ae, 16 Aug) |
| Louvre Abu Dhabi | Closed Mondays. Galleries also close before the site does, so an evening slot needs checking. (louvreabudhabi.ae, 16 Aug) |
| BAPS Hindu Mandir | Closed Mondays, otherwise 09:00–20:00. Advance registration is compulsory and must be done after you land in the UAE, and you must carry a physical Emirates ID or passport — a phone photo is refused. (mandir.ae, 16 Aug) |
Children, and the UAE law the whole SERP ignores
No page examined on this search publishes a child policy or a car-seat policy. On a page selling family packages that is a strange omission, because in the UAE it is the law rather than a courtesy. A child up to four years old must travel in a child safety seat, with a penalty of AED 400 and four black points. A front-seat passenger must be at least 145 cm and at least ten years old. Every passenger, including in the back, must wear a seat belt. Source: u.ae, the official UAE government portal, read 16 August.
Because we price per vehicle, children cost nothing and the correct seats are fitted free. Tell us ages and heights when you book.
When a package from someone else is the better buy
Two honest cases. If you are one or two people and want the lowest possible number, a per-person seat on a shared coach will beat a private car and you should book it — the crossover is around four people. And if you want a multi-day holiday package with hotels and flights bundled, that is a tour-operator product and not what we sell; the large hubs on this search do it and we do not.
What we sell is the day itself, priced per vehicle, with the terms readable in one sentence. From two people up that is usually cheaper, and it is always clearer.
Which Abu Dhabi tour package should you book?
Pick by group size first, then by hours, then by car. In that order.
| If you are… | Book | Price | Why |
|---|---|---|---|
| On a layover or cruise stop | Essential | AED 699 | Four hours is the right size. Send us your flight or all-aboard time and we build backwards from it. |
| A family of 4–7 | Value | AED 799 | Seven seats, six hours, AED 114 each at capacity. The best value on this page by a distance. |
| Up to 6, and the car matters | Comfort | AED 1,050 | Same six hours, in a Land Cruiser. |
| Only in Abu Dhabi for one day | Complete | AED 899 | Eight landmarks and time to go inside Qasr Al Watan or the Louvre. Our most-booked package. |
| Marking an occasion | Luxury | AED 1,499 | Eight hours, a Lexus, seven seats, and an itinerary that bends to you. |
| Coming from Dubai | Complete or Luxury | WhatsApp quote | The 140 km drive makes it a 8–10 hour day. A half-day from Dubai does not work. |
If you are still unsure, message us with your group size and your hours and we will tell you which package to book — including when the cheaper one is the right one. We would rather sell you the AED 699 package that fits than the AED 1,499 one that does not.
Combo packages: adding a second experience
The most common thing guests ask us is whether they can pair the city tour with something else. They can, and here is what works.
City Tour + Abu Dhabi Desert Safari
Our most-requested combination, and the one we would pick ourselves. You see the capital’s landmarks in the cool of the morning — mosque, Emirates Palace, the Corniche — and then head into the desert for dune bashing, a camel ride and dinner under the stars as the temperature drops. It is a long, full, genuinely memorable day, and it uses the two halves of the day for what each is actually good for.
City Tour + Ferrari World (or Warner Bros. World / SeaWorld)
Landmarks in the morning, Yas Island in the afternoon. The parks are indoor and air-conditioned, which makes this the right combination in the summer months. You buy your own park ticket — we do not resell them, and we never mark them up. Full detail on our Abu Dhabi City Tour with Ferrari World page.
City Tour + Louvre Abu Dhabi
Add roughly two hours on Saadiyat Island for Jean Nouvel’s dome — 180 metres across, about 7,500 tonnes, built from eight superimposed layers of geometric stars that scatter the famous “rain of light” across the plaza below. Ticket at your own cost.
City Tour + Qasr Al Watan
The working presidential palace, opened to the public in 2019. Its Great Hall is a 100-metre cube under a 37-metre dome, and in the evening there is a projection-mapped light show across the facade. Ticket at your own cost.
Why we do not print a combo price. A combo depends on your group size, how many hours you want in each half, which vehicle, and the season. Any single number we published here would be wrong for most of the people reading it — and inventing one to win the click is exactly the practice this website exists to avoid. Message us on +971 58 228 2683 and you will get a real figure, from a real person, usually within minutes.
What we do not sell — and why we are telling you
Search “Abu Dhabi tour packages” and roughly half the results will offer you a 4-to-7-day UAE holiday bundle with hotels, flights and transfers, at AED 1,500 to AED 6,000 per person.
We do not sell those. We are a tour operator — we own our vehicles, we employ our drivers, and every experience we sell, we run ourselves. We are not a travel agency reselling hotel rooms and airline seats we have never seen.
If you want a multi-day UAE holiday with accommodation, a proper travel agency will serve you better than we would, and we would rather send you to one than take your money for something we do not control.
What we can do across multiple days
- A vehicle and driver for several consecutive days — day tours on each, at a rate we will quote you.
- Airport transfers either side of your tour days.
- A different itinerary each day — capital landmarks one day, desert the next, Yas Island the third.
- Combined Abu Dhabi and Dubai days, with the driving quoted honestly.
Tell us the dates on WhatsApp and we will price the vehicle. We simply will not put a hotel on the invoice.
Per car or per person: the number that decides everything
Before you compare our packages with anyone else’s, check the unit. It is the single largest source of confusion in Abu Dhabi tour pricing, and the industry does not rush to clear it up.
| Guests | Shared package @ AED 150 pp | “Private” @ AED 275 per adult | Our Value Package |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | AED 150 | AED 275 | AED 799 |
| 2 | AED 300 | AED 550 | AED 799 |
| 4 | AED 600 | AED 1,100 | AED 799 |
| 6 | AED 900 | AED 1,650 | AED 799 |
| 7 | AED 1,050 | AED 1,925 | AED 799 |
Our column does not move. Theirs triples. At one or two guests, the shared package is genuinely cheaper and you should book it — we will say that as often as it is true. From four guests upward, the arithmetic reverses completely.
What Abu Dhabi tour packages cost elsewhere
Gathered in July from the operators currently ranking on the first page of Google for this search.
| Package type | Advertised | Unit | Cost for 6 |
|---|---|---|---|
| Deal-site day package | AED 80–135 | Per person | AED 480–810 |
| Shared full-day package | AED 109–199 | Per person | AED 654–1,194 |
| Mid-market package | AED 135–360 | Per person | AED 810–2,160 |
| Private 4×4 package (from Dubai) | AED 550 | Per vehicle (6–12 pax) | AED 550 |
| Multi-day UAE holiday bundle | AED 1,500–6,000+ | Per person | AED 9,000–36,000 |
| Royal Arabian Safari | AED 699–1000 | Per vehicle | AED 699–1000 |
One competitor genuinely undercuts us on a per-vehicle basis: a AED 550 private 4×4 package from Dubai. That is a real price and we are not going to hide it. What we would ask you to check is what is inside it — the guide, the fuel, the tolls, the parking, the waiting time, and whether the tickets are marked up.
What is actually inside an Abu Dhabi tour package?
Every package on this page visits the same core set of landmarks. Here is what you are actually getting for the money.
Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque
The centrepiece of every package, and you go inside — not a photo stop from the car park. It is the largest mosque in the UAE, holds over 40,000 worshippers, and was built between 1996 and 2007. It has 82 domes in white Macedonian marble, 1,096 columns inlaid with mother-of-pearl and semi-precious stone, four 107-metre minarets, the world’s largest hand-knotted carpet (5,627 m², woven by roughly 1,200 artisans, weighing around 35 tonnes) and seven Swarovski-crystal chandeliers, the largest about 10 metres across.
Entry to the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque is free. Always, for everyone. Any package advertising “mosque entry included” as a benefit is including nothing. What has real value is being driven there, arriving before 10:00 when the crowds build, and being briefed on the dress code so you are not turned away at the gate.

Emirates Palace
Opened in 2005 at a reported cost of around US$3 billion, with 114 domes, 85 hectares of grounds and some 8,000 m² of gold leaf worked into the interior. A photo stop on every package — the fountain avenue and the forecourt. The public areas of the hotel are open, and yes, the gold-flake cappuccino is real.
Abu Dhabi Corniche
An eight-kilometre waterfront promenade with a Blue Flag public beach, separate cycling and pedestrian lanes, parks and cafés. The best free photograph in the city is from here in the late afternoon, when the light comes in low across the Gulf.
Etihad Towers
Five towers; the tallest reaches 305 metres across 74 floors. Internationally known from Furious 7. On the 74th floor is the Observation Deck at 300, the highest publicly accessible viewpoint in Abu Dhabi — a lounge with a minimum spend, not included in any package.
Heritage Village
A reconstructed pre-oil Emirati settlement on the breakwater, with the modern skyline directly behind it across the water. A working souq with metalworkers, potters, weavers and glass-blowers. Entry is free. It is the only stop that explains the others, and most shared packages skip it.
Yas Island / Ferrari World
A photo stop on the six-hour and full-day packages. Ferrari World’s red roof covers roughly 200,000 m² and carries the largest Ferrari logo ever made. Inside is Formula Rossa, the world’s fastest rollercoaster: 0 to 240 km/h in about 4.9 seconds. The park ticket is not in any package.
Building your own Abu Dhabi tour package
The five packages above are starting points, not a menu you are locked into. Because the vehicle is private, the day is yours to shape.
Durations we run
- 2 hours — a mosque-only run, for very short layovers
- 4 hours — the Essential package
- 5–6 hours — the Value and Comfort packages
- 8 hours / full day — the Complete and Luxury packages
- Night package — the mosque illuminated, the Corniche after dark, the skyline lit. Almost nobody offers this, and it is genuinely underrated.
- Multi-day vehicle hire — a different itinerary each day
Changes guests routinely ask for, and get
- Start at 06:00 to photograph the mosque in first light and beat every coach in the emirate
- Drop Heritage Village and put those 40 minutes into the Louvre instead
- Add Qasr Al Watan, stay for the evening light show, go back late
- Build the whole day around a Ferrari World or Warner Bros. World ticket
- Stop for lunch somewhere specific — not a “tour restaurant” paying commission
- Skip the shopping stop entirely. We do not have one, because nobody pays us to have one.
When to book your Abu Dhabi tour package
The best months
November to March is the ideal window for any Abu Dhabi tour package. Daytime highs sit around 24–30°C and the humidity drops, which means the mosque courtyard, the Corniche and Heritage Village are a pleasure to walk rather than an endurance test. This is peak season, so the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque fills early — which is precisely why a private package matters. You leave when you choose, and you arrive before the coaches.
April, May and October are the shoulder months, at 32–38°C. Hot but entirely workable, and noticeably quieter at every stop. If you tolerate heat well, these are arguably the best-value months of the year: the same package, fewer people, the same price.
June to September regularly exceeds 42°C, and humidity can push the felt temperature past 50°C. A package still works in these months — but the shape of the day changes. We load the outdoor stops into the early morning, and lean on the indoor ones for the middle of the day: the mosque interior, the Louvre Abu Dhabi, Marina Mall, or an air-conditioned theme park on Yas Island. You are in a private, air-conditioned vehicle for every transfer, which is a genuine advantage over a coach that unloads forty people onto hot tarmac at every stop.
The best time of day to start
08:30. The Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque fills from around 10:00 and is busiest between 11:00 and 15:00. Starting early means you walk a comparatively quiet courtyard, and you come back west along the Corniche in the late afternoon when the light across the Gulf is at its best. No shared package can offer you this, because its departure time is set by its route rather than by you.
The day to plan around
Friday morning. The mosque closes to non-worshipping visitors for congregational prayer and reopens in the afternoon. On a private package we simply run the route in reverse — Yas Island and the Corniche first, mosque after lunch — and nothing is lost. During Ramadan, the mosque stays open to visitors but hours shift, dress-code enforcement is stricter, and eating or drinking in public during daylight is not done. The capital is beautiful after dark in Ramadan, and a night package is very much worth taking; it simply runs on a different clock, and we will plan it with you.
What to bring on an Abu Dhabi tour package
The list is short, and one item on it matters more than all the others combined.
- A headscarf, if you are a woman. The mosque lends abayas free of charge at the entrance, but in peak season the queue for them can cost you forty minutes of your package. Bring your own and walk straight in.
- Full-length trousers and sleeved tops, for men and women. Shorts and sleeveless tops are refused at the mosque gate every day, without exception. Children under the age of puberty are exempt.
- Shoes you can slip off easily. You will remove them before the prayer hall, and you will be walking the courtyard, Heritage Village and the Corniche.
- Sunglasses. The mosque courtyard is roughly 17,000 m² of white marble in direct sun, and it is genuinely dazzling. This surprises almost everyone.
- Sunscreen, even in January.
- A power bank. Six to eight hours across eight landmarks is a photograph-heavy day, and a flat phone at the Corniche at sunset is a real loss.
- Cash or a card for lunch and for any attraction ticket you decide to buy. We do not sell tickets, so you will be paying the attraction directly.
- Your passport or Emirates ID — occasionally requested at Qasr Al Watan.
Bottled water is on board and included in every package. You do not need to bring any.
How to book an Abu Dhabi tour package
One step. Message +971 58 228 2683 on WhatsApp with your group size, your date and your pickup address. Add your hours if you have a constraint, and any stop you particularly want. You will get a reply from a person — usually within minutes — with the package, the price and the plan.
- No prepayment. You pay the driver on the day.
- No card details handed to any third party.
- No booking fee and no service charge.
- Free cancellation.
- A day or two’s notice is usually enough. In peak season (November–March) give us three to five days for a specific vehicle — the Land Cruisers and the Lexus go first.
Why book your package direct with Royal Arabian Safari?
We are a DCT-licensed UAE tour operator, rated 4.9★ by more than 5,000 guests. We own our vehicles and we employ our drivers. That is the whole reason we can price a package per car instead of per head — an agency brokering coach seats has a per-seat cost to recover and cannot do it, whatever it calls the product.
- Per-vehicle pricing. Six people pay what one person pays.
- Zero markup on attraction tickets — we do not resell them at all.
- No booking fee, no service charge, no prepayment.
- Fuel, Salik, parking and water inside every package.
- Free cancellation.
- A real person on WhatsApp, replying in minutes.
Booking a package through Viator, GetYourGuide, Klook or Booking.com adds a platform commission — commonly 20–30% — to your price, not to the operator’s margin. The same car, the same driver, the same itinerary, booked direct: that commission does not exist.
Who wrote this page
Written by the operations team at Royal Arabian Safari, a DCT-licensed tour operator in the UAE. Every package price here is a price we charge, and every package we sell, we run in our own vehicles. Competitor prices were taken from live first-page listings in July and may change. Where a competitor is cheaper, we have said so. Where we do not offer something — multi-day hotel bundles — we have told you plainly rather than take the booking. Landmark facts come from the operators and owners of each attraction.

What is included in the Abu Dhabi desert safari?
Every evening package includes 4×4 dune bashing, a short camel ride, sandboarding, a sunset photo stop, Arabic costume for photos, henna for ladies, a full BBQ buffet dinner with vegetarian and non-vegetarian options, unlimited soft drinks, water, Arabic coffee and tea, a shisha corner, separate washrooms and around eight live shows including tanoura, belly dance and a fire show.
How much does a desert safari in Abu Dhabi cost?
Booking direct with us: AED 35 self-drive, AED 50 shared bus from Al Wahda or Mazyad Mall, AED 100 shared hotel pickup, AED 599 for a private 7-seater car and AED 800 for a private Land Cruiser. Agencies and hotel desks typically charge AED 180 to 250 per person for the same evening because they add commission on top of an operator price.
What time does the desert safari start and finish?
Pickup is usually 3:00 to 3:30 PM and you are back in the city around 10:00 to 10:30 PM. Timings follow sunset, so in December pickup moves earlier and in June it moves later.
Where does the desert safari take place?
At our own DCT-licensed camp in the Al Khatim desert, roughly 80 km east of Abu Dhabi city along the E22 Abu Dhabi to Al Ain highway, about a 50 to 60 minute drive. The Al Khatim ridges rise over 100 metres, which is considerably taller than the roadside dunes some operators use, and there is far less traffic on the sand.
How do I book?
Message us on WhatsApp with your date and group size. We reply with the exact total, no deposit and no booking fee, and you pay at the camp on the day. Free cancellation applies up to 12 hours before.
Is hotel pickup included?
Yes on the AED 100 shared pickup, the AED 599 private car and the AED 800 Land Cruiser, covering the whole city including the Corniche, Al Maryah, Al Reem, Downtown, Khalifa City, Mussafah, Yas Island, Saadiyat, Shabiya and the airport. The AED 50 package departs from Al Wahda Mall or Mazyad Mall, and AED 35 is self-drive using a GPS pin we send you.
Do I need a 4×4 for the self-drive option?
No. You drive on tarmac to a meeting point, so any standard car or rental reaches it comfortably. Our team takes over there in a proper 4×4 for the dune bashing.
How long is the dune bashing?
Around 40 to 45 minutes with short breaks. Tyres are deflated to roughly 15 psi first so they float on the sand. Intensity is adjustable at any point — tell your driver you want it gentle and it becomes a scenic drive.
Is dune bashing safe?
Yes with a licensed operator. Every passenger wears a seatbelt, vehicles are maintained and insured, drivers are trained specifically for dune driving, and vehicles travel in convoy so recovery is immediate. You can ask to stop at any time.
Can I do the safari without dune bashing?
Yes. Book the self-drive package and come straight to the camp, or ask for a direct transfer on a private car. You still get the sunset, camel ride, sandboarding, dinner and every show. This is the right choice for pregnant guests and anyone with back, neck or heart conditions.
What food is served at the camp?
A full BBQ buffet: salads and mezze including fattoush, hummus and Arabic bread; rice dishes, dal, pasta and mixed vegetable sabzi; chicken tikka, shish taouk, lamb seekh kebab and fish from the grill; Om Ali and fresh fruit for dessert. All 100% halal, with unlimited soft drinks, water, Arabic coffee and tea.
Are vegetarian and special diets catered for?
Vegetarian options are always available as standard, and the whole buffet is halal. Vegan, Jain, gluten-free and allergy requirements can be accommodated with advance notice — tell us when you book and we will confirm what will be on the table.
Is alcohol available?
No. Alcohol is not served or permitted at our camp and guests should not bring their own. Unlimited soft drinks, water, Arabic coffee and tea are included, and shisha is available at the camp.
What should I wear?
Loose, light-coloured clothing that covers shoulders and knees, and closed shoes such as trainers you do not mind filling with sand. From October to April bring a jacket — camp temperatures drop to 13 to 22 degrees after sunset. Avoid flip-flops, heels and skinny jeans.
Is the safari suitable for children?
Yes, from about age three. Ask for gentle dune bashing when you book, bring closed shoes and a spare set of clothes because sandboarding puts sand into everything, and pack a warm layer from November to March.
Can I add quad biking or a buggy?
Yes. Quad bikes are AED 100 single seater and AED 150 double, the Can-Am buggy is from AED 800 for 30 minutes, VIP majlis seating is +AED 50 per person, the falcon photo is AED 10–30 and professional photography starts at AED 50. Nothing is required and nothing is upsold under pressure at the camp.
What is the best time of year for a desert safari?
November to March gives the most comfortable conditions. October and April are excellent value with near-peak evenings and far fewer people. From May to September the morning safari is more comfortable than the evening one.
Is there a morning safari option?
Yes. The morning safari is a private premium product at AED 799 per car for up to 7 guests and does not include dinner or the live shows. It suits summer travel, photographers, families with young children and anyone with an evening flight.
What happens if it rains?
Abu Dhabi averages fewer than ten rainy days a year, almost all December to March. Light rain does not stop the safari and the desert afterwards is spectacular. If heavy rain or a strong wind would genuinely spoil the experience we move your date at no cost.
Are there toilets at the camp?
Yes. The camp has clean, separate washrooms for men and women, plus a prayer space, lighting and seating for every guest.

What everyone actually charges — and what it means for your group
Most operators quote per person. We quote per vehicle. That difference is invisible when you are travelling alone and decisive when you are four. These are the advertised rates of the operators currently on page one, read off their own booking pages.
| Operator | Advertised rate | 2 guests | 4 guests | 6 guests |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Royal Arabian Safari — private car | AED 699 per car | AED 699 | AED 699 | AED 699 |
| Operator A — shared seat | AED 130 per person | AED 260 | AED 520 | AED 780 |
| Operator B — shared seat | AED 125 adult / 115 child | AED 250 | AED 500 | AED 750 |
| Operator C — half day | AED 170 per person | AED 340 | AED 680 | AED 1,020 |
| Operator D — shared coach | AED 120–180 per person | AED 240–360 | AED 480–720 | AED 720–1,080 |
The honest reading: if you are travelling as a couple, a shared seat is cheaper than our private car and we will tell you so. From three guests upward the per-car price wins, and from four it is not close. You are also not sharing a coach with forty strangers, not waiting at four hotel pickups before you start, and not tied to someone else’s schedule at the mosque.
Rates were read directly from each operator’s public booking page in July. Operators are unnamed deliberately — prices change, and this is a comparison of pricing models, not an attack on anyone. Check them yourself before you book.
Abu Dhabi City Tour + Desert Safari Combo — One Operator, Both Icons
We are the only way to do this with a single company: we run the city tour fleet and our own desert camp. The combo pairs a morning or afternoon city tour (mosque, Corniche, palaces) with the evening desert safari — dune bashing, camel ride, live shows and BBQ dinner at our camp — either in one long day or split across two days. Because both products are ours, the timing never clashes, one WhatsApp thread manages everything, and there is no middleman margin stacked on top.
Same-Day Combo
Half-day private city tour (AED 699/car) + evening shared safari (from AED 35/person) or private safari car. City pickup 9am, safari pickup 3pm, home by 9:30pm.
Two-Day Combo
Full-day city tour with Louvre and Qasr Al Watan time on day one; sunset desert safari on day two. The pace most families prefer.
City Tour + Louvre Abu Dhabi Combo
Add the Louvre as a full stop, not a drive-past: we time entry tickets for your route, the driver waits, and you get 2–3 unhurried hours under the dome. Works on the full-day tour (AED 899/car) with the museum slotted after lunch, when tour-bus crowds thin out. Ferrari World, Qasr Al Watan and the Grand Mosque interior work the same way — every attraction on our things-to-do list can be swapped in. Message the combo you want on WhatsApp and we quote it as one price, one car, one plan.
For a vehicle upgrade rather than a package upgrade, see the Hummer desert safari Abu Dhabi — private Hummer H2, up to six guests, from AED 1,499.
If we have to cancel, what happens?
A cancellation policy that covers your obligations but not ours is only half a document. Here is our side of it, in writing.
If we have to cancel your booking — for weather, a vehicle issue, or driver illness — we will contact you as soon as we know and rebook you at no charge on the next date that works for you. You pay nothing for the cancelled booking.
If we need to send a different vehicle than the one you booked, we will ask you first rather than turning up in something you did not book.
This is separate from your own cancellation rights, which are unchanged: you can cancel free up to 12 hours before pickup. Because we take no deposit and no booking fee, there is no money of yours sitting with us either way — nothing to chase, and nothing to wait for.
