Corporate Desert Safari Abu Dhabi — Team Events at the Al Khatim Camp

10 to 500 guests. Thirty minutes from the city, one camp, one bill, and a team that has run corporate evenings in this desert. No deposit for standard groups — invoiced or paid on the day.

Corporate Desert Safari Abu Dhabi — Team Events at the Al Khatim Camp: The Short Answer

10 to 500 guests. Thirty minutes from the city, one camp, one bill, and a team that has run corporate evenings in this desert.

  • How much does a corporate desert safari cost per person?: At the shared camp: AED 35 self-drive, AED 50 by coach from the mall points, AED 100 with hotel or office pickup — everything at the camp included.
  • Which months are best for a corporate evening?: October to April is prime — warm afternoons, cool evenings. May to September we advise the sunrise corporate format or a later pickup; the camp evening still runs, and the after-dark hours are genuinely comfortable most of the summer.
  • Is the camp safe for colleagues who have never been in a desert?: Yes. Licensed drivers, seat belts enforced, gentler dune lines on request, a covered majlis out of the sun, and separate facilities for men and women.
  • How far in advance should we book a corporate desert safari?: Shared-camp team evenings need only a few days. Private fleets a week.
  • Can we get a VAT invoice and pay by transfer?: Yes. Standard groups can simply pay on the day; companies that need an invoice and bank transfer get one — send the company details with the enquiry and the paperwork comes back with the quote.

It is our camp — and that is why we can promise the rest of this page

We built our desert camp and we run it. We are not buying you a seat at somebody else’s. It sounds like a small distinction and it is the most important one on this page, because almost every operator ranking for these searches is reselling space at a camp they do not control.

Here is what that actually changes for your evening, in plain terms:

What we can commit toWhy a reseller cannot
Nobody will pressure you to buy an upgrade. Our camp, our staff, no commission on extras. A reseller does not employ the people selling henna, photographs and seating once you arrive.
Your seating is settled before you travel. We are not buying tables from a host camp that tiers them and sells the better ones on arrival — which is exactly where guests report feeling cornered.
Vegetarian, Jain or allergy meals arranged properly. We run the kitchen. A reseller has to ask a favour of a camp that has never met you.
The timings we quote are the timings you get.We are not fitted around another camp’s schedule and another operator’s coaches.
We can answer questions about the animals. It is our operation, so there is someone to ask. Ask a reseller about camel rest periods and there is nobody on the other end of the question.
You can have the camp without the dune drive. We can reshape the evening because it is ours to reshape.

We are a DCT-licensed Abu Dhabi operator. And where this page says we will confirm something in writing before you pay, that is not a hedge — it is us checking our own operation rather than repeating a promise made by a company we booked you with.

What the evening looks like on a run sheet

  • 15:30–16:00 — pickup from your office or hotel, or your coach follows our lead car to the sands.
  • 16:30 — dune bashing in convoy; nervous colleagues ride with the calmest drivers, adrenaline-seekers get the ridge lines.
  • 17:45 — camp: camel rides, sandboarding, falcon photos, henna, VIP majlis for the leadership table.
  • 19:00 — BBQ buffet (veg, non-veg and dietary plates flagged in advance), then belly dance, Tanoura and the fire show.
  • 21:00–21:30 — convoy back. Morning and full-day corporate formats arranged on request.

Team-building, honestly

Dubai operators sell tug-of-war and sack races beside the dunes. We arrange games on request for private-camp events — but our honest advice after a decade of corporate groups: the desert is the team-building. Shared dune-bashing cars, a camel queue, a sandboard hill and a fire show do more for a team in three hours than a facilitated game does in a ballroom.

Why Abu Dhabi Teams Stopped Driving to Dubai for This

  • Thirty minutes, not ninety. Al Khatim is half an hour from the city. A Dubai desert event costs every attendee three hours of coach time — the single biggest complaint on corporate feedback forms.
  • One operator, one invoice. Transport, camp, catering and entertainment on a single bill, confirmed on WhatsApp the same day.
  • Real capacity honesty. Up to about 500 we host comfortably. Beyond that we split the event across two evenings rather than degrade it.
  • Weddings, birthdays and launches too. The private-camp format serves any occasion — the desert weddings advertised from Dubai exist here, without the drive.

Formats by Occasion — What Companies Actually Book

A corporate desert safari is not one product. These are the six briefs we see again and again, and how the camp answers each one.

  • The end-of-year dinner. Private camp or reserved section, awards after the buffet, the fire show as the closer. The format that replaces the hotel ballroom — at a fraction of hotel banqueting rates.
  • The onboarding / new-team mixer. Shared camp evening, mixed vehicle assignments on purpose — the dune convoy does the ice-breaking before dinner does the rest.
  • The client entertainment evening. Private 4x4s, VIP majlis seating, falcon photos for the guests, and a driver-per-vehicle level of hosting. The format where the Land Cruisers earn their AED 800.
  • The visiting delegation. Short notice, mixed nationalities, protocol sensitivities — we assign a lead host, brief the drivers, and plate dietary requirements separately. 72-hour turnarounds are normal here.
  • The Ramadan gathering. The camp runs an iftar-timed format in the holy month — quieter entertainment, dates and gahwa at sunset, dinner after maghrib. Ask for the seasonal run sheet.
  • The incentive / reward trip. Morning dunes, city afternoon, camp evening — the full-day format for teams flown in to be impressed. Pairs with our city tour on the same invoice.

Corporate Booking Questions

How far in advance should we book a corporate desert safari?

Shared-camp team evenings need only a few days. Private fleets a week. A full camp buyout for 100+ with branding and custom catering is best confirmed two to three weeks out — though we have turned events around in 72 hours when a visiting delegation appeared from nowhere.

Can we get a VAT invoice and pay by transfer?

Yes. Standard groups can simply pay on the day; companies that need an invoice and bank transfer get one — send the company details with the enquiry and the paperwork comes back with the quote.

Can you handle mixed groups — nervous first-timers and adrenaline seekers?

This is most corporate groups. The convoy splits by appetite: gentler lines for the nervous cars, ridge runs for the brave ones, and nobody is forced onto a camel. Tell us the mix and the drivers are briefed before pickup.

What about dietary requirements?

The buffet always carries veg and non-veg lines; halal is standard. Flag specific needs — vegan, gluten-free, allergies — with the headcount and the camp kitchen plates them separately.

Is alcohol available at the camp?

No — the camp is dry, like the public desert camps across the emirate. Most companies treat this as a feature for a mixed-team event; the evening runs on shows, shisha and firelight instead.

Can we brand the event or add a stage and sound?

On a private buyout, yes — banners, a stage, sound for speeches and awards, and your agenda woven into the evening. Send what you have in mind and the quote covers it line by line.

What happens if the weather turns?

We call it as early as possible, move the group into the covered majlis, or reschedule without penalty. A corporate evening is never run into weather the drivers would not take their own families into.

Do you run morning or full-day corporate formats?

Yes — sunrise dune sessions with breakfast for teams that cannot lose an evening, and full-day formats combining the city and the desert. The evening run sheet above is the popular one, not the only one.

How much does a corporate desert safari cost per person?

At the shared camp: AED 35 self-drive, AED 50 by coach from the mall points, AED 100 with hotel or office pickup — everything at the camp included. Private 4x4s are AED 599 per car for up to seven, so a fleet works out under AED 100 a head from six per vehicle. Camp buyouts are quoted to headcount and inclusions, same day, on WhatsApp.

Can the camp host a product launch or awards night?

Yes — that is the private buyout format: staging, sound, your branding, a custom programme and the camp exclusively yours for the evening. Send the brief and the quote itemises it.

Do you host desert weddings or birthday events?

Yes. The private-camp format serves weddings, birthdays and anniversaries exactly as it serves companies — the desert does not check the occasion. Ask for the private events quote with your date and numbers.

Can our own coach be used?

Absolutely — your coach follows our lead car to the sands and our 4x4s shuttle the final dune leg. It is the cheapest way to move 50+ people and most schools and large firms do exactly this.

Is the camp safe for colleagues who have never been in a desert?

Yes. Licensed drivers, seat belts enforced, gentler dune lines on request, a covered majlis out of the sun, and separate facilities for men and women. Nervous guests can skip the dune bashing entirely and ride direct to camp.

Which months are best for a corporate evening?

October to April is prime — warm afternoons, cool evenings. May to September we advise the sunrise corporate format or a later pickup; the camp evening still runs, and the after-dark hours are genuinely comfortable most of the summer. Full month-by-month detail is on our best-time guide.

Do you own the desert camp, or do you resell someone else’s? +
We built our own camp and we run it. That is the reason we can commit to the things on this page — no pressure to buy upgrades, seating settled before you travel, meals arranged for your family, and timings we actually control. An operator reselling seats at a shared camp cannot promise any of that, because none of it is theirs to promise. We are a DCT-licensed Abu Dhabi operator.
Why does it matter whether the operator owns the camp? +
Because everything guests complain about at desert camps happens at the camp: tiered seating sold on arrival, henna and photographs charged after the fact, quad bikes pushed at you by the minute, and food that cannot be adjusted. A reseller has no authority over any of it — they booked you in and left. Since the camp is ours, the answer to each of those is simply a decision we make.
Can you arrange vegetarian, Jain or allergy-safe food? +
Yes — tell us when you book. We run the kitchen at our own camp, so this is an instruction rather than a request passed to a third party. It is one of the most common questions we get and one almost no operator answers on the page, because most of them genuinely cannot.
