How much are Dubai desert safari tickets, and where should I book?

Direct prices start at AED 35 per person for self-drive, AED 50 by shared bus, AED 100 for a shared 4×4 with hotel pickup, and AED 799 for a private 4×4 for up to seven people. Every evening ticket includes dune bashing, a camel ride, sandboarding, a BBQ buffet dinner and eight live shows. You book in minutes on WhatsApp with no deposit and pay on the day.

The most important tip on this whole page: book direct, not through an online travel agent. Sites like the big aggregators resell the exact same desert camps but add a heavy commission, which is why their tickets often start at AED 99 to 150 and climb past AED 1,900 for luxury. We are the actual DTCM-licensed operator running our own camp on the golden dunes near Al Awir, so you pay the real price and deal with the people who run your safari. Dubai Desert Safari Ticket Types and Prices

Dubai desert safari ticket types on the golden dunes
Dubai desert safari ticket types on the golden dunes

There is one ticket for every kind of traveller. The only difference between the evening options below is how you get to the camp, once you are there, the experience is the same full evening safari. Prices are per person unless stated.

TicketPriceBest for
Self-drive evening safariAED 35Have a car, want the cheapest legit ticket
Shared bus evening safariAED 50Budget travellers without a car
Shared 4×4 with hotel pickupAED 100Most popular, pickup and drop included
Private 4×4 evening safari (up to 7)AED 799Families and groups wanting their own vehicle
Morning desert safari (private, up to 7)AED 799Quieter, cooler, activity-focused mornings
Overnight desert safariOn WhatsAppSleeping under the stars, full evening plus breakfast

The AED 35 self-drive ticket is genuine, not a bait price. You drive to the meeting point on the golden dunes near Al Awir, we guide you in, and you join the same camp, dinner and shows as everyone else. If you would rather be collected, the AED 100 shared 4×4 ticket includes hotel or home pickup and drop-off across Dubai. For a vehicle to yourselves, the AED 799 private ticket covers up to seven guests, which works out cheaper per head than most shared OTA tickets once you fill the car.

Prefer a quieter, cooler trip? A morning safari is AED 799 for a private group of up to seven, with pickup included. Want to stay the night? An overnight safari adds a private tent, bonfire, stargazing and breakfast, priced on WhatsApp. For the full cost breakdown of every option and add-on, see our price guide.

Here is the part no booking site will tell you. Most “tickets” sold online are resold by online travel agents who buy seats from operators like us and add a commission, usually 15 to 30 percent, sometimes more. That is why the same evening safari that costs AED 100 direct can appear at AED 150, AED 295 or higher on an aggregator. You are paying extra for a middleman, not a better safari.

To be fair, OTAs are not scams, they are convenient and many are reputable. But for the identical camp, dinner and shows, booking direct simply costs less and gives you more control. When you book with us you get:

  • The real operator price, from AED 35, with no commission added
  • No deposit, you pay on the day
  • Instant confirmation on WhatsApp from a real person, not a chatbot
  • Free, flexible date changes if your plans move
  • Direct contact with the team running your safari, before and on the day
  • Honest advice on the right ticket for your group, with nothing oversold

Message us and you will have your tickets sorted in a couple of minutes, at the price the OTAs started from before they added their cut.

What Every Evening Ticket Includes

How to Book Your Tickets

How to book Dubai desert safari tickets, family camel ride at the camp
How to book Dubai desert safari tickets, family camel ride at the camp

Booking is deliberately simple, no long online checkout and no account to create.

StepWhat happens
1. Message usSend your date, number of guests and pickup area on WhatsApp
2. We confirmWe reply in minutes with the right ticket, total price and pickup time
3. Get picked upOn the day we collect you (shared 4×4 or private), or guide you in if self-drive
4. Pay on the dayPay at the camp, no deposit needed to reserve

How far in advance should I book?

For most of the year, a day or two ahead is plenty. In peak season, roughly November to March, and on weekends and public holidays, evenings fill faster, so book five to seven days ahead to be safe. Same-day tickets are often possible if there is space, just message us and we will tell you honestly what is open.

Cancellation and flexibility

Because there is no deposit, there is nothing to lose if plans change. Need to move your date? Tell us and we will shift it, free. In the rare event weather affects the desert, we will reschedule you rather than send you out in unsafe conditions, your safety comes before a booking.

Which Areas We Pick Up From

The AED 100 shared 4×4 ticket and the AED 799 private ticket both include hotel or home pickup and drop-off across Dubai. Our camp is on the golden dunes near Al Awir.

Plan on 50 to 65 minutes from your hotel to the camp, depending on which part of Dubai you are picked up from and the traffic that evening.

Staying in Sharjah or Ajman? Pickup may be possible on request, message us with your location and we will confirm. For full routes, pickup zones and a live map, see our location guide.

How to Choose a Trustworthy Operator (and Avoid Being Overcharged)

How to choose a trustworthy Dubai desert safari operator
How to choose a trustworthy Dubai desert safari operator

Dubai has hundreds of desert safari listings and the quality varies a lot. Before you pay anyone, check these:

Check thisWhy it matters
A real DTCM licenceConfirms a regulated, legitimate Dubai tourism operator, not an unlicensed reseller
Their own campOperators with their own camp control quality and price; pure resellers just add commission
Genuine, recent reviewsReal photos and recent dates beat a single huge platform-wide review number
Transparent, fixed pricingIf the price is vague or changes when you ask, walk away
No high-pressure VIP upsellHonest operators offer upgrades; they do not corner you at the camp to buy them
Clear pickup detailsA real operator gives you a vehicle, driver and time, not a vague meeting point
You can talk to them directlyDealing with the operator, not a faceless platform, means accountability

We tick every box: DTCM-licensed, our own camp on the Al Awir dunes, real guest photos, fixed transparent prices, and absolutely no pressure to upgrade once you arrive. You can read more about our safari and camp any time.

Are Dubai Desert Safari Tickets Worth It?

Are Dubai desert safari tickets worth it, couple at sunset on the dunes
Are Dubai desert safari tickets worth it, couple at sunset on the dunes

For most visitors, yes, and the value is hard to beat. A direct evening ticket of AED 35 to 100 buys around six hours: dune bashing, a camel ride, sandboarding, the sunset over the dunes, a full BBQ buffet dinner and eight live shows. Compared with a single restaurant meal and a show in the city, an entire desert evening for the price of a main course is genuinely good value, which is exactly why it is the most popular thing to do in Dubai after the Burj Khalifa.

Where people feel let down is when they overpay an aggregator for a basic tour, or get pressured into upgrades they did not want. Book direct at the real price, choose the ticket that fits your group, and the value speaks for itself.

Who Should Think Twice (Honest Advice)

We would rather you enjoy the right ticket than regret the wrong one. Dune bashing is a fast 4×4 ride over dunes, so it is not for everyone:

If this is youWhat we suggest
PregnantSkip dune bashing; go straight to the camp and enjoy the dinner, shows and gentle activities
Back, neck or heart conditionsAvoid dune bashing; the camp experience is calm and still wonderful
Severe motion sicknessChoose a self-drive or direct-to-camp option, or ask us to keep the drive gentle
Travelling with infantsTell us their age; very young children may be better at the camp than dune bashing
You dislike crowdsThe shared camp is lively; consider a private or overnight safari for space and quiet

Tell us your situation on WhatsApp and we will build the safest, most comfortable ticket for you, honestly, even if that means spending less.

Families, Children and Accessibility

Family-friendly Dubai desert safari tickets, camel ride at the camp
Family-friendly Dubai desert safari tickets, camel ride at the camp

The camp is genuinely family-friendly. Children love the camel rides, sandboarding and the shows, and there is space to sit, eat and relax. Child pricing depends on age, so message us with your childrens ages and we will give you an honest, fair total, small children are often reduced or free. Families who want their own vehicle and flexible timing usually prefer the AED 799 private ticket.

Guests who cannot do dune bashing, including elderly visitors and wheelchair users, can be taken straight to the camp to enjoy the dinner, shisha, shows and sunset. Let us know your needs in advance and we will make sure your evening works comfortably for everyone.

Best Season and Time to Go

The desert runs all year, but the most comfortable months are October to April, when days are warm and evenings are pleasant, perfect for the sunset and an evening at the camp. From June to August the desert is hot in the daytime, so evenings are the smart choice and the dunes feel less crowded.

For exact pickup and sunset times month by month, see our timings guide, and for clothing in every season see our what to wear guide. Whatever month you visit, the safari, dinner and shows run the same, only the pickup time shifts with the season.

What You Will Do: The Activities Explained

Here is exactly what your ticket gets you on the dunes and at the camp, activity by activity, so there are no surprises.

Dune Bashing

Dune Bashing on a Dubai desert safari
Dune Bashing on a Dubai desert safari

The headline thrill: a skilled driver takes a 4×4 up, down and around the golden dunes near Al Awir in a controlled rollercoaster of climbs and slides. Tyres are deflated for grip, seatbelts on, and the driver reads the sand the whole way. It lasts around 20 to 30 minutes and is the single most exciting part of the evening, though you can skip it and go straight to the camp if you prefer a calm trip.

Camel Rides

Camel Rides on a Dubai desert safari
Camel Rides on a Dubai desert safari

A short, gentle camel ride at the camp, the classic desert photo and a favourite with children. The camels are calm and handled by an experienced keeper, and there is time to take pictures. Want longer for a proper photoshoot? A longer camel ride for two is available for AED 300 as an add-on, but the short ride is included free with your ticket.

Sandboarding

Sandboarding on a Dubai desert safari
Sandboarding on a Dubai desert safari

Strap a board to your feet or sit and slide down a dune face, no experience needed. It is included free, the boards are provided, and the soft sand makes for gentle landings. Great fun for all ages and an easy way to get an action shot on the dunes before sunset.

Quad Biking

Quad Biking on a Dubai desert safari
Quad Biking on a Dubai desert safari

An optional add-on for the riders in the group: a quad bike across the open dunes with a helmet, briefing and a guide. Singles are AED 200 and doubles AED 300. It is not required, but if you want extra adrenaline beyond the dune bashing, this is the one to add.

Dune Buggy

Dune Buggy on a Dubai desert safari

Another optional thrill: a two-seater dune buggy with a roll cage, seatbelts and a helmet, easy to drive and a real adrenaline hit on the sand. It is AED 800 for 30 minutes for up to two people. Tell us when you book and we will have it ready at the camp.

Falconry

Falconry on a Dubai desert safari

Hold a falcon on your wrist for a striking, uniquely Emirati photo. A falcon photograph is a small add-on at AED 10–30 and one of the most popular keepsakes from the evening. The birds are handled by an experienced falconer and it takes only a couple of minutes.

Henna Designs

Henna Designs on a Dubai desert safari

Traditional henna art applied at the camp, a basic design is included free for the ladies. Want something more intricate? A full design is available from AED 30 to 50. It is a lovely cultural touch and makes for beautiful photos against the desert backdrop.

Belly Dance Show

As dinner is served, the live entertainment begins, and the belly dance is the crowd-pleaser. A professional performer dances under the open sky to traditional music, one of eight shows included in your ticket at no extra cost.

LED Tanoura

A mesmerising spinning dance in a glowing, colour-changing LED skirt, the Tanoura is a highlight of the show line-up. The performer twirls continuously for several minutes in a swirl of light, a genuine wow moment and a brilliant video opportunity.

Fire Show

The night ends with a dramatic fire show, spinning flames and fire-eating against the dark desert sky. It is safe, professionally performed and the perfect finale before the drive home, and like every show, it is included free.

Shisha and Relaxing

Our prices are already flat and transparent, from AED 35, with no commission on top, so you are not waiting for a discount code to get a fair price, you start at one. For groups and families, the AED 799 private ticket for up to seven is usually the best value once you fill the vehicle, and you can combine the safari with add-ons like quad biking or the buggy in one booking.

Looking for a Sharjah desert safari? Most Sharjah-branded tours actually use the same Dubai desert belt. We operate from our own camp on the golden dunes near Al Awir, and pickup from Sharjah or Ajman may be possible on request, just send your location on WhatsApp and we will confirm what works for your date. For a side-by-side of every package and price, see our price guide.

Common Mistakes When Buying Desert Safari Tickets

A few simple errors cost travellers money or spoil the trip. Avoid these and you will have a great evening at a fair price.

MistakeHow to avoid it
Paying an OTA markupBook direct with the operator; the same camp and dinner cost less without a reseller in the middle
Paying a deposit when you do not need toWith us there is no deposit; you pay on the day, so never feel pressured to pay upfront
Falling for fake VIP pressure at the campA good operator offers upgrades calmly; if you are cornered to pay more, that is a red flag
Not checking the operator is licensedConfirm a real DTCM licence and an actual camp, not just a glossy listing
Booking the wrong tour typeRead the morning vs evening vs overnight comparison and pick what fits your group
Ignoring season and timingBook the right pickup time for the season so you catch the sunset, not miss it
Assuming pickup is always includedSelf-drive tickets do not include pickup; confirm transfers if you need collecting
Choosing on price aloneThe cheapest unlicensed tour can mean an unsafe drive; balance price with a trusted, licensed operator

What to Bring on the Day

Your ticket covers the experience, food and drinks, so you need very little. A short checklist:

  • A light layer or jacket for after sunset, the desert cools quickly (November to March especially)
  • Flat or closed shoes, or sandals you do not mind getting sandy
  • Sunglasses and sunscreen for the late-afternoon sun
  • A fully charged phone or camera for the sunset and shows
  • A little cash if you want to add an extra at the camp (quad, buggy, falcon photo)
  • Any personal medication; tell us in advance about medical needs

Booking for a group, family or company? We handle large groups, birthdays, celebrations and corporate evenings regularly. Private vehicles, reserved seating and add-ons can all be arranged together, just tell us your numbers on WhatsApp and we will put together one clear, transparent price for the whole party.

Dubai Desert Safari Tickets: FAQs

How much do Dubai desert safari tickets cost?

Booked direct, from AED 35 for self-drive, AED 50 by shared bus, AED 100 for a shared 4×4 with hotel pickup, and AED 799 for a private 4×4 for up to seven. A morning safari is AED 799 for a private group, and overnight is priced on WhatsApp.

Is there really a 35 AED desert safari, and is it legit?

Yes. The AED 35 ticket is a genuine self-drive option, you drive to our meeting point near Al Awir and join the same camp, BBQ dinner and shows as everyone else. It is a real DTCM-licensed safari, not a bait price.

Why should I book direct instead of through an OTA?

Online travel agents resell the same desert camps and add a commission of roughly 15 to 30 percent, which is why their tickets start higher. Booking direct with us, the actual operator, means the real price from AED 35, no deposit, instant WhatsApp confirmation and direct contact with the team running your safari.

How do I book and how far in advance?

Message us on WhatsApp with your date, number of guests and pickup area, and we confirm in minutes. A day or two ahead is usually fine; in peak season (November to March) and on weekends, book five to seven days ahead. Same-day tickets are often possible if there is space.

Is a deposit required, and what is the cancellation policy?

No deposit, you pay on the day. If your plans change, tell us and we will move your date for free. If weather ever affects the desert, we reschedule you rather than send you out in unsafe conditions.

Are hotel pickup and transfers included, and which areas?

The AED 100 shared 4×4 ticket and the AED 799 private ticket include hotel or home pickup and drop-off across Dubai (roughly 30 to 55 minutes from the camp). Sharjah and Ajman pickups may be possible on request. The AED 35 self-drive ticket does not include pickup, you drive in.

Morning, evening or overnight, which ticket is best?

Evening is the full classic experience with dune bashing, sunset, BBQ dinner and eight shows. Morning is cooler, quieter and activity-focused with no dinner or shows. Overnight adds a private tent, bonfire, stargazing and breakfast. Most first-timers choose evening.

What is included versus what I pay extra for?

Included free: dune bashing, a camel ride, sandboarding, basic henna, the sunset stop, Arabic costumes, soft drinks, shisha, the BBQ buffet and eight live shows. Paid add-ons include quad bikes (AED 200/300), the dune buggy (AED 800), a falcon photo (AED 10–30), VIP seating (AED 50) and professional photography (AED 50 to 150).

What should I wear?

Light, comfortable clothing and flat or closed shoes for the sand, with a layer for after sunset when the desert cools, especially November to March. See our what to wear guide for a full month-by-month breakdown and modesty tips.

What food is served, and are there veg, vegan or Jain options?

A BBQ buffet dinner with both vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes, all halal, plus salads, sides and dessert. Tell us in advance for vegan or Jain meals and we will arrange them. No alcohol is served; during Ramadan, timings and some details adjust, just ask.

What is the child policy and are there age limits?

Children are welcome and love the camp. Pricing depends on age, so message us with your childrens ages for an honest total, small children are often reduced or free. For very young infants, the calm camp may suit better than dune bashing.

Is it safe for pregnant women, elderly guests or people with back or heart conditions?

Dune bashing is a fast ride and is not recommended if you are pregnant or have back, neck or heart conditions. You can skip it and go straight to the camp to enjoy the dinner, shisha, shows and sunset. Tell us your situation and we will arrange a safe, comfortable option.

Premium versus standard, what is the difference?

Our core ticket already includes the full experience. Upgrades like VIP seating (AED 50) or a private 4×4 (AED 799) add comfort and exclusivity, and our luxury safari adds premium touches. There is no stripped-back basic version, every ticket gets the dinner and shows.

Where exactly does the safari take place?

On the golden dunes near Al Awir, about 35 to 45 minutes from central Dubai by the E44. The taller Lahbab red dunes are available on request. The exact camp pin is shared on WhatsApp when you book.

How do I choose a trustworthy operator and avoid being overcharged?

Check for a real DTCM licence, an operator with its own camp (not just a reseller), genuine recent reviews, transparent fixed pricing, clear pickup details and no high-pressure upselling at the camp. We meet all of these and you deal with us directly.

Can I get tickets the same day, and is Sharjah covered?

Same-day tickets are often available if there is space, message us and we will check. Sharjah and Ajman guests can ask about pickup; we will confirm what is possible for your location and date.

If we have to cancel, what happens?

A cancellation policy that covers your obligations but not ours is only half a document. Here is our side of it, in writing.

If we have to cancel your booking — for weather, a vehicle issue, or driver illness — we will contact you as soon as we know and rebook you at no charge on the next date that works for you. You pay nothing for the cancelled booking.

If we need to send a different vehicle than the one you booked, we will ask you first rather than turning up in something you did not book.

This is separate from your own cancellation rights, which are unchanged: you can cancel free up to 12 hours before pickup. Because we take no deposit and no booking fee, there is no money of yours sitting with us either way — nothing to chase, and nothing to wait for.
