Will I be pressured to buy upgrades at the camp?

No. Our staff will answer questions about optional extras if you ask, but they will never pressure you. Your booked package is complete on its own.

Is the basic package actually complete?

Yes. Dune bashing, camel ride, sandboarding, henna, BBQ dinner, sheesha and eight live shows are all included from AED 35. Add-ons are genuine extras, not necessities.

Why is the quad bike cheaper if I pre-book?

We reward planning ahead. A single quad bike is AED 50 pre-booked on WhatsApp versus AED 100 at camp. It is the opposite of pressure selling.

Do I have to pay a deposit?

No. There is no deposit. You pay on the day, so you are never locked in.

What if I do want an upgrade?

Just tell us, either when booking on WhatsApp or at camp. Pre-booking add-ons is often cheaper and guarantees availability.

Where does the desert safari take place?

At our own DCT-licensed camp in the Al Khatim desert, roughly 80 km east of Abu Dhabi city along the E22 Abu Dhabi to Al Ain highway, about a 50 to 60 minute drive. The Al Khatim ridges rise over 100 metres, which is considerably taller than the roadside dunes some operators use, and there is far less traffic on the sand.

Is hotel pickup included?

Yes on the AED 100 shared pickup, the AED 599 private car and the AED 800 Land Cruiser, covering the whole city including the Corniche, Al Maryah, Al Reem, Downtown, Khalifa City, Mussafah, Yas Island, Saadiyat, Shabiya and the airport. The AED 50 package departs from Al Wahda Mall or Mazyad Mall, and AED 35 is self-drive using a GPS pin we send you.

Do I need a 4×4 for the self-drive option?

No. You drive on tarmac to a meeting point, so any standard car or rental reaches it comfortably. Our team takes over there in a proper 4×4 for the dune bashing.

How long is the dune bashing?

Around 40 to 45 minutes with short breaks. Tyres are deflated to roughly 15 psi first so they float on the sand. Intensity is adjustable at any point — tell your driver you want it gentle and it becomes a scenic drive.

Is dune bashing safe?

Yes with a licensed operator. Every passenger wears a seatbelt, vehicles are maintained and insured, drivers are trained specifically for dune driving, and vehicles travel in convoy so recovery is immediate. You can ask to stop at any time.

Can I do the safari without dune bashing?

Yes. Book the self-drive package and come straight to the camp, or ask for a direct transfer on a private car. You still get the sunset, camel ride, sandboarding, dinner and every show. This is the right choice for pregnant guests and anyone with back, neck or heart conditions.

Is quad biking included in a desert safari or is it extra? +
Usually extra, and this is the single biggest source of camp-side friction. Most safari prices cover the 4×4 drive, camp entry, dinner and the show, while quad bikes and buggies are separately priced and sold by the minute on arrival. Experience Abu Dhabi lists quad biking as a distinct desert activity rather than part of a safari package (visitabudhabi.ae, read 17 August). Whatever applies to your booking is written on your confirmation before you pay.
Do I have to pay extra for VIP or better seating at the camp? +
Some camps operate tiered seating and sell the better tables on arrival, which is where guests most often feel cornered — you are already in the desert and cannot easily leave. Our position is that your seating is settled before you travel and confirmed in writing, so nobody is asked to pay more once they are out there.
Are henna, photographs and sheesha free at the desert camp? +
At many camps they are chargeable, and the charge is often mentioned only after the henna is applied or the photo is printed. That practice is exactly what this policy rejects. Whatever is included for you is stated on your confirmation, and anything optional carries a written price you can decline without awkwardness.
What happens if I say no to an upgrade? +
Nothing. You keep the same seat, the same dinner, the same drive home and the same attention from the team. Declining is the expected answer, not an awkward one, and our camp staff are not paid commission on extras sold to you. If you ever feel leaned on by anyone at the camp, tell your driver at the time and tell us afterwards.
Do I have to tip the driver or the camp staff? +
Tipping is customary in the UAE but never required, and it should never be solicited. No amount is expected, no envelope is presented, and no part of the experience is withheld from guests who do not tip. If you enjoyed the drive and want to hand your driver something directly, that is entirely your decision.
How do I know the price I am quoted is the final price? +
Ask for it in writing before you pay, and check the total covers pickup, camp entry, dinner and drop-off. UAE consumer protection rules give you the right to obtain a service at the declared price, and suppliers who advertise misleading prices or false data face penalties of up to AED 2 million and up to two years’ imprisonment (u.ae, read 17 August).
What can I do if an operator charges me more than the advertised price? +
You have formal routes, and they work. The Ministry of Economy runs a consumer complaints line on 800 1222 (u.ae, read 17 August). In Abu Dhabi, the Department of Economic Development handles complaints about establishments it licenses, on 800555 (added.gov.ae, read 17 August). Keep your written confirmation and any receipts — a written quote is what makes a complaint straightforward.
Do you own the desert camp, or do you resell someone else’s? +
We built our own camp and we run it. That is the reason we can commit to the things on this page — no pressure to buy upgrades, seating settled before you travel, meals arranged for your family, and timings we actually control. An operator reselling seats at a shared camp cannot promise any of that, because none of it is theirs to promise. We are a DCT-licensed Abu Dhabi operator.
Why does it matter whether the operator owns the camp? +
Because everything guests complain about at desert camps happens at the camp: tiered seating sold on arrival, henna and photographs charged after the fact, quad bikes pushed at you by the minute, and food that cannot be adjusted. A reseller has no authority over any of it — they booked you in and left. Since the camp is ours, the answer to each of those is simply a decision we make.
Can you arrange vegetarian, Jain or allergy-safe food? +
Yes — tell us when you book. We run the kitchen at our own camp, so this is an instruction rather than a request passed to a third party. It is one of the most common questions we get and one almost no operator answers on the page, because most of them genuinely cannot.

If we have to cancel, what happens?

A cancellation policy that covers your obligations but not ours is only half a document. Here is our side of it, in writing.

If we have to cancel your booking — for weather, a vehicle issue, or driver illness — we will contact you as soon as we know and rebook you at no charge on the next date that works for you. You pay nothing for the cancelled booking.

If we need to send a different vehicle than the one you booked, we will ask you first rather than turning up in something you did not book.

This is separate from your own cancellation rights, which are unchanged: you can cancel free up to 12 hours before pickup. Because we take no deposit and no booking fee, there is no money of yours sitting with us either way — nothing to chase, and nothing to wait for.
